index.html
In the Web Pages section there must be a file called index.html or index.pdf
You can create links from index.html or index.pdf to other files.
The browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) looks for the index.html file to display as the first page of the web pages section.
If there is no file called index.html or index.pdf the students will see a message "Sorry, no home page for this class".
For your course website to be listed on the browse page or have a link from the online course information page there must be an index.html or index.pdf page.
Files, Folders and Subfolders
Your Web Pages section can have as many files and sub folders as you like. If you are familiar with creating web sites the Web Pages section behaves like any other web site.
Your view of the Web Pages section includes all files you have uploaded. The students see only the index.html file.
File names must not contain spaces or any special characters such as & + # \ / : * ? " ' < > | ! .
Do not start the file name with a number.
When in doubt, keep the file name as short and simple as possible.
For example use hist_100a_readings.html not hist100ab*readings
On a Mac be sure to include the extension after the filename - for example .html, .doc, .xls, .pdf, .ppt
