QuickTime 4 Setup Instructions

WINDOWS ONLY -- After installing QuickTime,  you will need to configure the QuickTime plugin.  For instructions on configuring QuickTime 5 and later, please click here.

1. Launch the QuickTime player application.  (These instructions are for QuickTime 4. If you have Quicktime 5 or later, then please click here)
2. Go to Preferences in the Edit menu and select Connection Speed.

   
    

3. The QuickTime Settings window will pop up.  First, select Browser Plug-in from the drop-down window at the top (#1 below).   Click the MIME Settings button (#2 below).  If you do not see the Plugin option, you may not have the plugin installed. In this case, you must reinstall Quicktime.

   

    

4. In the MIME settings window, scroll down until you find the MP3 associations. Uncheck all the MP3 associations (click on the + signs on the left next to the MIME types to make them disappear). Click OK.

   

    

5. You've now successfully configured the QuickTime plugin and you're ready to go!
